Centre for maritime health

The English version is still under construction.

Every industry and every workplace has its specific work environment problems, and some are unique to that particular industry. Conditions onboard ships differ in many respects from workplaces ashore, and the web-based network Centre for Maritime Health (CMH) was started in spring 2009 to compile and spread information about the work environment and health at sea. CMH gathers experience and research results and helps to forward this information to people affected in the industry.

The website also operates as a forum for people and organisations interested in health issues in shipping and other maritime areas (such as diving medical issues).

Subsidised by SAMS, CMH was started by doctors at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Göteborg and cooperates with SAN, the Swedish Transport Agency, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, Corporate Health Care, research groups and Radio Medical.
